Jahyeon Koo
I am currently a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Economics at UC Santa Barbara. I received B.A. degree in International trade from Pusan National University and M.A. degree in Economics from Seoul National University and UC Santa Barbara.
My research focuses on demographic economics and applied microeconomics (education, labor) related to socio-economic inequality and gender gap. My current research focuses on how economic and policy shocks affect the gender gap with respect to various outcomes such as women being less-educated than men, parents preferring to have boys rather than girls, and wives having less power than husbands in households.
I am on the 2022 - 2023 job market and will be available for interviews.
